Joined AKM, Austrian Performing Right Society 1935; vice president 1938; resigned. In early twenties, librettist of operettas, collaborating with Franz Lehar. Light operas: Sterngucker (Star Gazer); Land des Lachelns (Land of Smiles); Friede-rikc; Giuditta, Schon ist die Welt. Wrote lyrics for operettas (1932-37); Viktoria und ihr Husar; Blume von Hawaii; Ball im Savoy. Songs: "O Donna Klara"; "Valenzia", "Sonja", "O Katharina"; "Was machst du mit dem Knie"; "Ich hab' das Frau'n Helen." German adaptations of Amciican songs include: 'Ausge-rechnet Bananen" ("Yes, We Have No Bananas"); "SclilaF mein Lieb-ling" ("Goodnight Sweetheart"); "Hya-Ho alter Schimmel" ("Roll Along, Covered Wagon").
